Webb City police officer dies from suicide

Authorities released information about a police officer who has taken his own life.
The Jasper County coroner has ruled the death Monday of a Webb City police officer a suicide by gunshot.
Joplin police were called at 4:41 p.m. Monday to 1509 Kent Drive in Joplin, where a friend had found Jacob A. Williams, 37, dead.
A self-inflicted gunshot wound was cited at the cause.
The body was taken to Mason-Woodard Mortuary, where funeral arrangements were pending.
