Wichita security officer injured during burglary
WICHITA, Kan.June 19 2018 Two men burglarizing a Wichita building attacked and injured a security officer and fired several gunshots while fleeing.
Wichita police say that they are looking for two people who tried to break into the business in southwest Wichita late Sunday.
It happened at XPO Logistics near West Street and 29th Street South at around 9:30 p.m.
Investigators say a security guard confronted the men, and a struggle ensued. The security officer wound up with a cut on the arm before the men took off running.
K9 units were called in to help track the men down.
The security guard’s injury was minor and did not require medical attention and no one was hit by the gunfire.
