Woman arrested for assaulting Northdate Mall security officer with vehicle
Seattle WA Feb 20 2018 Prosecutors filed charges last week against a woman they say ran over a security officer with a vehicle at the Northgate Mall last fall and was connected to another woman suspected of shoplifting.
Felicia Ripley is charged with second-degree assault and felony hit-and-run for the Sept. 30, 2017 incident.
The security officer injured in the incident reportedly told police that she was called to the Ulta Beauty and Salon shop for a shopliftong. The suspect had left the store, but left behind two young children, reports indicate.
The security officer arrived and spotted another woman entering the business — later identified as Ripley — and taking the children with her out of the store, according to the incident report.
She stopped Ripley and tried to stall her while police responded to the scene, but Ripley reportedly managed to leave the store and head for the parking lot. The security guard followed Ripley outside and watched her get into a vehicle.
She was recording the vehicle’s license place when Ripley allegedly drove the car into the security officer, knocking her down and running over her arm.
She drove away from the scene, according to the incident report.
The security officer received minor injuries.
