Woman Banned From Harrah’s Bites Security Guard, Officer
JOLIET, IL Nov 19 2021— Christine Castellano, a 27-year-old homeless woman from Chicago, attacked several Harrah’s Casino security guards and Joliet police on Tuesday morning, biting one of the casino guards and one police officer, Joliet police announced.
Castellano has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated battery, criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer.
Joliet police were sent to the Harrah’s casino around 11 a.m. According to police reports, the Harrah’s security guards approached Castellano near the valet lobby and told her to leave the property because she was previously banned from the Joliet Harrah’s.
While refusing to leave, Castellano began damaging a metal box used to hold tips from valet customers, and when Harrah’s security tried to detain her, Castellano bit the arm of one of the guards, police said.
Several more security guards intervened and gained control over Castellano. When Joliet police tried to search Castellano following her arrest, “she kicked an officer and bit an additional officer in the arm,” police reports show.
The Joliet officer who was bitten was treated at Silver Cross Hospital for a minor injury, police said.
A Will County judge has set bail at $20,000 for Castellano.
