Woman caught injecting heroin at Chesterfield courthouse
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. July 20 2018 A Crewe woman who was due in court in Chesterfield County Thursday morning is suspected of shooting up heroin outside the courthouse before her hearing.
Police say Chesterfield County Deputy Sheriff’s were monitoring security cameras Thursday morning and witnessed 38-year-old Crystal Corbett, of the 300 block of Country Club Road in Crew, sitting on a curb outside of the Chesterfield Courthouse and inject something into her arm before throwing the syringe into a nearby sewer.
Responding deputies detained Corbett and also retrieved the syringe from the sewer, which appeared to contain heroin residue. Deputies also discovered other illegal drugs that were in her possession.
Corbett, who was at the courthouse to appear on two charges related to credit card fraud, was charged with possession of schedule I or II drugs — a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment — possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is being held without bond and is due to appear in court Friday at 11 a.m.
