Woman charged in needle stabbing of security guard in Vancouver
Vancouver Canada February 25 2023 A woman has been charged with aggravated assault after a security guard working in the Downtown Eastside was stabbed with a hypodermic needle Thursday.
Vancouver police responded to Main and Hastings around 4:30 p.m. after a security guard was stabbed in the arm.
Police allege a woman refused to drop the needle when officers arrived. Police then deployed a beanbag shotgun during the arrest.
The 62-year-old security guard was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Cheyenne Harvey, 38, has been charged with aggravated assault. Harvey remains in custody until her next court appearance.
