Woman charged with assaulting hospital nurse, security guard
Pensacola FL May 24 2019 A 36-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly attacking a Baptist Hospital nurse and a hospital security guard in the emergency room.
Christie Grubb was arrested at Baptist Hospital on Tuesday night and charged with battery on an officer, firefighter, EMT, etc.
According to an arrest report, Baptist Hospital’s security staff contacted the Pensacola Police Department at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to report a battery on an employee in the emergency room.
Police were told hospital staff had witnessed Grubb banging on her hospital room’s glass and using racial slurs toward another patient, the report said. A nurse told police that she approached Grubb, telling her to stop.
Grubb ran toward to her and shoved her outside of the room and down to the floor, according to the nurse.
The report noted that video surveillance should have captured the nurse falling to the floor, but the video was not available to be released at this time.
When a second nurse approached Grubb about her behavior, Grubb attempted to also attack her, but a security guard intervened, according to the report. He sustained two small scratches underneath his eye.
After Grubb was medically cleared by Baptist Hospital, she was arrested. Grubb was booked into the Escambia County Jail with a $5,000 bond, and as of Wednesday morning she remained in custody.
