Woman faces attempted murder charges after Waffle House security officer attacked

A security officer came under attack at a South Carolina Waffle house recently and the attacker is now behind bars facing attempted murder charges.
The incident occurred in Sumter and left one person injured and several cars damaged.
Sumter police say 35-year-old Shatarica Michelle Unique Gray faces charges of attempted murder, assault and battery, driving under suspension, and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
It all stems from an incident at the Waffle House on Broad Street around 3 a.m.
Police say Gray got into a confrontation with the security officer at the restaurant before getting into a minivan and trying to hit him.
Police say she missed and instead hit a vehicle with someone inside.
Other parked vehicles were also damaged.
Officials say Gray drove off.
The person who was inside the vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital.
Police say shortly after that Gray abandoned the vehicle in a wooded area and showed up at the hospital for treatment of a minor injury and that she was arrested there.
