Woman killed in Citadel Mall parking lot shooting, suspect at large
WEST ASHLEY, S.C. March 1 2019 Charleston Police Department says it’s searching for a man after a woman was killed in a parking lot shooting at the Citadel Mall in West Ashley.
Officers responded after gunshots were reported around 5:36 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Charleston County 9-1-1 Dispatch Supervisors.
The incident reportedly took place outside the old JC Penny location on the southeast side of the mall.
Witnesses reported a man shooting a woman after an argument, according to investigators. The man drove off, and the woman tried to drive off but wrecked her car, witnesses told police.
Officers say the woman died on the scene.
Citadel Mall Security said it was no longer on lockdown as of 6:30 PM.
