Woman rescued by security guard after falling into Detroit River

A woman who fell into the Detroit river and who was struggling to stay afloat was rescued by a nearby security officer police reported Wednesday night.
The twenty one security officer, only named “Robert” by local media was working at the Riverfront Towers Apartments when he saw her fall into the river.
It happened in the area of the old Joe Louis Arena. The woman was sitting along the river’s edge with her boyfriend when she fell in.
The security officer, who also is in the Army Reserves immediately rushed to her aid and was able to help pull her out of the river.
Police and fire services were notified and the woman was taken to a local hospital.
