Woman threatens to shoot hospital security and Iredell County Sheriff’s deputy
STATESVILLE, NC July 13 2018 A woman was arrested for assaulting an Iredell County Sheriff’s deputy.
The Sheriff’s Department says the deputy was working security at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 8 when the suspect, Yvonne Louise Fuller, became loud and verbally abusive toward hospital staff and others when she was asked to leave the premises.
Hospital staff asked Fuller to leave after they had reportedly seen her taking items out of cabinets in the emergency room.
After a security guard intervened, Fuller told him she would take his gun and shoot him in the head. Deputy B. Gudgeon went to assist the security guard and Fuller also threatened Deputy Gudgeon, saying she was going to kill him and everyone else in the hospital.
Fuller injured Deputy Gudgeon while he was trying to take her into custody, causing lacerations to his hand.
After she was detained, it was determined that she had outstanding warrants from the Statesville Police Department. She was arrested and charged with assault inflicting serious injury to a law enforcement officer, assault on a governmental official, two counts of communicating threats, disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. Her bond was set at $10,000.
