106 Police Officers. 104 Security Officers, Have Died From COVID-19

106 Police Officers Have Died From COVID-19, Surpassing 9/11, 30 of those have occurred in New York according to the National Fraternal Order of Police.
National Trainer, Travis Yates, tells us that with the nature of law enforcement and the inability of those in the profession to do what many Americans are able to do in the middle of this crisis to prevent exposure, line of duty deaths due to COVID-19 will likely increase.
As of today, COVID-19 is the leading cause of line of duty death in 2020.
The Officer Down Memorial Page list 72 police officers being killed by 9/11 in the year 2001.
COVID-19 has become the single largest cause of line of duty death in a year since the decade of the 1970’s when over 100 police officers were shot and killed each year.
The private security industry also has had a significant number of security officers and private police who have died from the COVID-19 virus.
According to Richard McCann, Founder and CEO of Private Officer International, 106 security officers have died from being infected with the virus. These are just the ones that we know f and have confirmed, but I’m sure that there are others that have not been reported yet.
The group, a private security and law enforcement organization founded in 2004, has been tracking injuries and on-duty deaths since it began and also worked on a project prior to the beginning of their association that tracked and recorded security officer deaths from the September 2001 attack on the New York towers.
