77 year old “fake” security guard charged with robbery
Bossier City LA May 18 2020
The man who posed as ‘Security’ and attempted to rob the Bossier City Walmart has been arrested.
Detectives of the Bossier City Police Department Violent Crimes Unit have identified the man who attempted that armed robbery just one week ago. BCPD says he is 77-year-old Ronnie Dean Seymour of Texarkana, Arkansas. Seymour tried to hold up the Money Center at the Walmart on Airline Drive.
On May 7, 2020 at approximately 3 p.m. a Bossier City police officer was flagged down and responded to the attempted robbery.
“Upon arrival information and surveillance footage was obtained in reference to the suspect,” detectives said the day of the incident. “Video surveillance revealed the suspect was a white male dressed in all black clothing wearing a security guard jacket and hat with ‘SECURITY’ displayed on the front. The suspect was wearing a mask over his face. It appears that the suspect was possibly wearing a gray colored wig.”
Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest and Seymour was taken into custody on Thursday May 14, 2020, charged with attempted armed robbery. He was booked into the Bi-State Jail Facility in Texarkana, Texas.
Bond is set at $350,000.
