Butte security officer comes under attack by rock throwing man

A security officer on duty and sitting in his vehicle came under attack when a man picked up a large rock and threw it at him for no apparent reason.
Police said that the 53-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after a security officer stated that he was throwing a rock through a van window.
According to police, they responded to the Metals Bank area of West Park Street at about 12:30 a.m.
When they arrived, a security guard told officers he was sitting in his van when William Hesse threw a rock through one of the windows
. Police located Hesse in the area and arrested him for criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
After Hesse reportedly resisted attempts to bring him inside the detention center, he was also cited for resisting arrest.
