After being kicked out of Allentown club, man made threats and then fired gun into air, police say
Allentown PA October 6 2019
After a Georgia man was kicked out of an Allentown club last month, he threatened the security manager and fired three to four gunshots in the air, according to court records.
Allentown police filed an arrest warrant Tuesday against Shawndarryl D. Daniel, 31, of Decatur, charging him with illegally possessing a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He is not in custody, police said.
Allentown police were dispatched at 2:04 a.m. Sept. 21 to the Chicago Sports Bar and Grill, 1179 Airport Road, on a report of shots fired. Police spoke to the security manager who said there was an incident inside the club in which marijuana was recovered. They detained Daniel and placed him in handcuffs and escorted him outside, police said.
Security officials then took a picture of Daniel’s Georgia identification card and asked him to leave the premises. As they were removing the handcuffs, Daniel made threatening statements toward the security manager.
Daniel remained in the parking lot until someone in a truck arrived, and he got in the passenger seat. The truck started driving toward Airport Road, but stopped in the middle of the parking lot and Daniel fired three to four gunshots into the air.
People in the parking lot ran off in all directions and the truck headed south on Airport Road.
Police recovered a 9 mm shell casing from the parking lot.
A criminal history check revealed that Daniel had been convicted of felony burglary charges in Mississippi and is not allowed to possess a gun.
