Female security officer threatened with axe after violent Spearwood break-in
Perth AU October 27 2019
A female security guard was threatened with an axe after a violent robbery in Perth’s southern suburbs.
A gang of thieves had allegedly broken into a Spearwood home in the early hours of Monday morning, police said.
Once inside the Doolette Street house, they forced two men, aged in their 20s and 40s, to unlock an off-road motorcycle, and also demanded money.
The man in his 40s was allegedly assaulted with a metal pole.
As the group fled, they were spotted by the security guard, who stopped her car at the intersection on Spearwood Avenue and Gower Street when she saw the gang pushing the motorcycle down the road.
Police allege a small axe was then thrown through the driver’s window.
The security guard received grazes to her shoulder, hands and fingers as the axe landed next to her.
The men then fled the area, abandoning the motorcycle.
Detectives want to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam vision of the group in the area.
