Bridgeport nightclub security guard shot
BRIDGEPORT CT November 12 2019 – A bouncer at a Bridgeport bar was shot in the abdomen Sunday night.
At 9:45 a.m., police dispatchers received a report of a person shot at 1603 Barnum Ave., Perfections Lounge.
Police spokesman Terron Jones said patrol units responded and Stratford police, who happened to be in the area at the time, pursued a suspect who was running from the area.
The suspect eluded capture.
The male victim, 37, who works as a bouncer at the bar was located on the sidewalk at the entrance door on Barnum Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Jones said the victim is expected to survive.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
