School security officer cut with bladed instrument while stopping fight
Toledo OH December 8 2019
A Whitmer High School student was arrested Thursday after going after another student with a “knife-like object” while in art class.
The incident happened about 1:40 p.m. and prompted Washington Local Schools officials to place the high school on lockdown until the student, 14, was apprehended by a school security officer, according to a Toledo police report.
No students were injured, but the school security officer received a small cut on his hand during the incident. He was treated by Toledo Fire & Rescue Department crews.
The lockdown was lifted once the student was controlled, the release said.
