Lincoln RI Jan 22 2020
Lincoln police have charged a Massachusetts man in the robbery of a 69-year-old man who told police his wallet, his cell phone and his glasses were stolen from him at knifepoint in the parking lot at Twin River Casino, authorities said Sunday.
Using casino security video, the police identified a Toyota vehicle linked to a Pawtucket residence where they found it and Anthony J. McClain, 30, according to a news release issued by Lincoln police Capt. Philip J. Gould.
McClain, of Framingham, wore the same attire he was seen wearing in video surveillance that captured him getting into the Toyota, and he was carrying a knife, Gould said.
The surveillance, he said, also showed McClain following the 69-year-old casino patron through Twin River earlier on Saturday, prior to the robbery at about 6:20 p.m.
McClain was arrested and taken from the Pawtucket location on Central Avenue to Lincoln police headquarters.
He was charged with first-degree robbery, arraigned and held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
