Rite Aid Thieves Pull Knife On Security Employee For Cold Medicine
MANHATTAN NY Feb 12 2020 — A group of shoplifters pulled a knife on a security guard at Rite Aid so they could get away with a large amount of cold medicine last month, police said.
The three men, who police say are in their late teens or early 20s, tried to leave a Rite Aid at 195 Eighth Ave. last month with about $400 of stolen merchandise, police said. The items included over the counter cold medicine, like Theraflu, an NYPD spokesperson said.
One of the shoplifters pulled a knife on a 50-year-old security guard when he tried to stop them from leaving with out paying, police said. The suspect didn’t hurt the security guard but made verbal threats as he and the rest of the shoplifters ran from the store, police said.
Police got photos of the men from surveillance cameras inside the Rite Aid and said they were last seen wearing all dark clothing.
