3 Waffle House employees suspected of robbing 7 other Georgia locations, sheriff says
Clayton County GA May 4 2020
Three people arrested in an armed robbery of a Waffle House in North Macon were employees of a Waffle House in Clayton County, police said.
The trio also may have been involved in seven other armed robberies of Waffle Houses throughout Georgia, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Two brothers from Riverdale, Darien Jermaine Anthony, 25, and Johnny Leon Anthony, 27, and his girlfriend Myia Lasheay Thompson, 20, from Jonesboro, were each charged Friday with the armed robbery of the Waffle House at 5440 Bowman Road.
At 3:20 a.m. March 27, an employee was ordered to get on the floor as the three masked suspects, now identified as the Anthony brothers and Thompson, took money from the cash register and office before running away with cash. Another employee was in the restroom during the incident.
The FBI helped Bibb sheriff’s investigators enhance video evidence from the Macon robbery, which helped them identify the Anthony brothers and Thompson, the release said.
On Friday, FBI agents arrested Johnny Anthony and Thompson in Clayton County, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Darien Anthony was pulled over on Interstate 475 and arrested Friday after a tip that he would be traveling through Bibb County, according to the release.
