Eaton County sheriff’s office charge man with retail fraud
EATON COUNTY, MI June 3 2019 The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Delta Patrol was dispatched to the local business around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for retail fraud.
The suspect removed an anti-theft device and attempted to walk out of the door without paying.
When store employees confronted him, he dropped the merchandise and ran away.
Deputies located him nearby were he was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was found to be in possession of a 9MM handgun that was tucked into his waistband. The handgun has a loaded magazine.
An additional 30 magazine for the handgun was found in the suspect’s sock.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Eaton County Jail awaiting arraignment.
He is being charged with carrying a concealed weapon, retail fraud and removing an anti-theft device. Possible armed robbery charges are pending.
