Gun fired -person injured during confrontation with Knoxville bar security
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. July 16 2018 Knoxville police responded to Physicians Regional Medical Center where a male arrived suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, Shadi Jamal Murfiq, was transported to UT Medical Center for additional treatment.
According to KPD, a male patron who had been removed from The Vibe, located at 2630 North Broadway, was involved in an altercation with a security guard when a handgun fell to the ground.
The gun was picked up and was accidentally discharged during the altercation, striking Murfiq.
No charges will be placed in this incident at this time according to KPD.
However, the incident remains under investigation.
Poluce are trying to confirm who shot the weapon.
Shadi Jamal Murfiq’s injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.
