Las Vegas is Closed But Security is Watching The Strip
Las Vegas NV April 7 2020
The city of Las Vegas is dark and eerie once the sun goes down now that hotels, casinos and most businesses have been closed because of the coronavirus.
While most employees from the famous strip has been furloughed, there’s still a group of employees on duty day and night making sure that no one takes advantage of the situation.
Private security officers are roaming the streets, others perched outside casino entrances and still other security personnel, some armed, are watching from high above street level.
Like many other states, Nevada closed all nonessential businesses to stem the spread of the coronavirus. Since most businesses in Las Vegas is considered nonessential, there’s less foot and car traffic and more options for burglars, thieves and others to take advantage of the empty streets as they weave their way around pilfering and burglarizing casinos and other businesses.
In any given month, 2.5-3.5 million tourists are in the city but not now.
While metro police are still making their rounds of the businesses, it’s security officers that are the sentries and business owners are depending on their faithful and watchful services during these times.
