Lynn University’s public safety keeping campus safe during COVID1-9

During a time of uncertainty, one thing certain is that Lynn University’s campus is in good hands.
Following the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to slow spread of the coronavirus, Lynn moved all classes online and closed campus in March.
While the majority of operations moved online, the Department of Campus Safety continues to provide Lynn with top-notch security on campus.
“[Officers] are fearlessly doing their jobs,” said Chief Larry Rickard. Campus Safety works around the clock maintaining a 24-hour guard of campus.
His team connects daily with Boca Raton Police Command Staff to stay updated on local and state-wide Covid-19 protocol.
All safety officers receive regular briefings and additional training as necessary, so that they’re ready to inform and protect the Lynn community at all times.
While campus is closed, officers remain vigilant in patrolling the perimeters for suspicious activity.
The department monitors campus access and provides master access lists to gatehouses to assure only authorized personnel enter campus.
Unoccupied buildings receive regular checks to ensure systems continue working properly.
Along with keeping campus safe, officers continue to assist students and parents with moving belongings out of residence halls, which officially closed March 21.
Through these unprecedented times, students, parents, faculty and staff can take comfort in knowing Campus Safety is committed to maintaining campus protection.
