Man killed after gunfire exchange with MD security guard
CATONSVILLE MD May 27 2018Â Police say that a man is dead after exchanging gunfire with a security guard at a Catonsville business, early Saturday morning.
According to Baltimore County Police, just before 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike, for a shooting.
Investigators say an argument began between the security guards of the business and a male suspect, in the parking lot.
Security employees were asking patrons to leave the parking lot because the business was closed. The suspect reportedly refused to leave the parking lot.
After being asked several times to leave, the suspect allegedly went into his car and got a handgun.
As the suspect raised the gun in the direction of one of the security guards, police say that the security guard fired his handgun, striking the suspect in the upper body.
After being shot, the suspect ran a short distance and then collapsed. The suspect was struck multiple times. He was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where he died at 2:34 a.m.
The suspect did fire his weapon, but no one else was injured.
The security guard remained on the scene.
Baltimore County Police will continue their investigation and will submit their findings to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Ron Worsley, of Parkton Court.
