Man shoots self at Sandy Springs Georgia hospital
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. April 17 2019 Sandy Springs Police said officers are investigating after man shot himself inside a hospital Monday afternoon.
It happened at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Sandy Springs.
Police said a man in his 70s who had been visiting his wife inside the hospital shot himself.
He died from his wounds, police said.
Police did not identify the man by name.
Police are investigating this as a possible suicide attempt, but are not ruling out the possibility it was an accident.
Investigators spent the early evening speaking with people who were nearby when it happened.
There was a report the hospital was on lockdown for a brief time, but that has not been confirmed by the hospital.
