183 security officers have died from the COVID-19 virus since February 2020.
All of them had worked during some part of the Pandemic and became ill shortly afterward.
Six of those who became infected and lost their lives after returning to work.
The security personnel who have given their lives worked in these areas including:
Colleges and Universities

Hospitality
Retail Including Shopping Mall and Big Box Stores
Hospital or Other Medical Facility
Private Police
Juvenile Justice and Private Corrections
Transit Authority
TSA
Restaurant/Nightclub
47 of those deceased were female and 136 were male.
We found that the median age was 53 based on the statistical information of more than 50% of those listed.
However, due to the lack of complete data, we cannot with any certainty, estimate the exact median age of this group.
We also have received information and data from private companies, schools and individuals reporting deaths of security officers since as early as March, and we continue to work on verifying as many details as possible.
We do not want to estimate the number of deaths and will continue working on the verification of facts.
