Over 100 juveniles involved in melee at Providence Place Mall

Providence police were called to Providence Place Mall Saturday night for a report of a large disturbance.
According to police, there were over 100 juveniles involved in the melee.
Multiple backup units were called in to respond to the reportedly disruptive crowd.
Shortly before 7 PM on Saturday, police responded to the mall for a report of a large fight.
Upon arrival, a female juvenile told police she was pepper-sprayed in the face by a male juvenile.
According to police, the male juvenile was arrested and police confiscated the pepper spray in his posession; the female juvenile was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
Police reported that multiple people then began to yell at police and instigate the crowd in an attempt to block officers from performing their duties; multiple units were called in for backup.
Three juveniles in total were arrested and turned over to the Youth Service Bureau for charging.
