Private Officer International Initiates a Cold Case Unit Investigating Unsolved Security and Police Officer Homicides

January 21, 2022

Charlotte NC January 20, 2022

As of this moment, there are more than 157 unsolved security and private police officer murders.

Some are considered cold cases that average more than five years without any leads, results, or arrests.

In some states like Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Arizona, California, and New York, there are multiple unsolved cases and families waiting for closure that seems like it will never come.

Here, in these and other states, there’s not just one unsolved murder of a security officer, but numerous cases that remain open and on the shelf.

While police departments treat each homicide equally, many lack the manpower to actively work cases after they’ve exhausted all their efforts. Because while they are investigating those cases that have gone cold, other murders are happening every day and need the immediate attention of those homicide investigators.

That’s why Private Officer International has partnered with several resources to initiate a

Cold Case Unit within our organization.

This unit has been structured to investigate unsolved homicides, research data and information pertaining to the case, network with multiple outside resources and law enforcement agencies, and bring forth a positive resolution to each case that is investigated.

There is currently no similar Cold Case Unit investigating only law enforcement or private security officer homicides operating in the U.S.

With the help of several retired law enforcement members who are members of POI, we are beginning to review the open, unsolved homicide cases from the past ten years.

We will begin by putting together a profile of the homicide, the who, what, where, when, and how and we will gather as much information and intelligence about the case as possible.

We are going to start with a few of the “fresh”, open homicides and partner with the law enforcement agency currently investigating the case.

With some fresh eyes, new resources, and dedicated investigators, it is our hope that we’ll be able to bring the person responsible for the security officer’s death to justice and give the family peace and closure.

We have decided to send periodical case updates through our social media platforms and email system.

Here’s how you can help:

We are still in need of experienced law enforcement or trained investigators.

I can assure you that this is a worthwhile endeavor and one that will be gratifying to all involved.

We can also use researchers who will aid in collecting data and information from the Internet and other resources.

If you would like to be involved in the Cold Case Unit, please send an email with your

contact information and a resume.

We will contact you immediately.

Thank you,
