San Antonio security officer shoots armed robbery suspect
San Antonio TX May 28 2018Â A security guard shot a suspect in an armed robbery in a northeast side parking lot early Sunday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the guard was in the parking lot of a strip club in the 9500 block of Perrin-Beitel about 3:30 Sunday morning when two patrons told him they had just been robbed at gunpoint.
They pointed out the alleged robber, who was still in the parking lot.
The security guard approached the man, who pointed the gun at the guard, and then ran toward an apartment across the street.
The security officer followed, and police say that’s when the suspect again pointed the gun at the security guard, who opened fire with his legally carried handgun.
The suspect was shot several times.
Police are investigating the incident to determine if any charges should be filed.
The security officer was not hurt.
