San Luis HS security guard fired after arrested for sexual conduct with minor
SAN LUIS, Ariz. Aug 24 2019- Police arrested a San Luis High School security guard after she was accused of having sex with a student of the district, Thursday.
Yuma Union High School District (YUHSD) took immediate action by firing that employee.
The school district confirmed San Luis administrators and district office personnel informed the San Luis Police Department (SLPD) of information that led to the arrest of the security guard.
SLPD booked the on 44-charges tied to having sex with a minor.
The former YUHSD employee appeared in court Friday morning in San Luis and a victim’s advocate from Amberly’s Place appeared on behalf of the minor.
The judge confirmed there was probable cause for the woman’s arrest.
Parent, Rosa Carrazco, told News 11 that this information was shocking because she’s in the process of enrolling her son at the high school.
Carrazco said, “Oh my gosh, I didn’t know this. Well, I hope if that’s so, I hope they do something about it because there’s a lot of kids especially my kids too, that’s going to be enrolled here and I really want the best education and best protection in school.”
The school district released a statement saying:
“The health and safety of all Yuma Union High School District students is a primary and most important value of all board members and staff at the district. We will continue to do our utmost to provide a safe learning environment for all students.”
The former YUHSD employee is being held on a $50,000 bond and is expected to appear back in court next week.
