Security guard kills man during COVID enforcement incident
LAS VEGAS NV Aug 28 2020 Las Vegas police say a man is dead after being shot by a 7-Eleven security officer.
It happened at the store on Craig Road and Las Vegas Boulevard shortly before 11 p.m.
Police say a female security officer was limiting access to the store and refused to let him in. The two began arguing and police say it became physical.
The man got inside the business, police say, and the security officer pulled out a handgun, forcing him back outside.
They kept fighting and that’s when authorities say she shot him.
Las Vegas police have identified 36-year-old Kegia Mitchell as the security officer who allegedly shot and killed the man.
Police say Mitchell took out her gun and the man backed away, but authorities accuse her of shooting him one time.
Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she was booked for Open Murder.
The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
