Security guard struck by car following theft from Macclesfield store

A shop security guard was struck by a vehicle as two suspected shoplifters attempted to make their escape.
The guard was left with only minor injuries following the incident at Sports Direct on Waters Green, Macclesfield, on Tuesday afternoon (June 11).
Police were called to the scene shortly after 2.20pm.
Later that afternoon two men were arrested in Chelford and are currently in police custody for questioning.
A 38-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.
Another man, 42, also from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.
