Simsbury High School securty officer intentionally hit by parent’s vehicle
SIMSBURY CT Sept 5, 2022 — A security officer at Simsbury High School was struck by a car driven by a student’s parent Friday, according to police.
Officers were at the school “anticipating the arrival of a parent who was upset about an incident that involved his child” after school Friday, Police Chief Nicholas Boulter and Superintendent Matt Curtis said in a letter to the community.
“Officers were talking with the parent in the parking lot and the parent drove away quickly, striking a school security guard,” officials said.
The driver fled the scene, officials said. The security guard was hospitalized to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police and school officials are investigating the matter, according to the letter.
