Thursday, students spread the news around school about Marcus Wilson’s birthday, and shortly after they surprised him by coming together to sing “Happy Birthday.”
The video was shared through the school’s Twitter account and gained a lot of traction, with many students tagging the Ellen DeGeneres show.
Students say Wilson serves as a sort of body guard for everyone in the school.
“He’s always there for all of us. He’ll show respect to you before anyone else would and before you even do to him. He has a heart, no matter who you are, and he doesn’t judge you,” junior, Darius Macluan said.
After working at the school for almost a decade, Wilson says he still loves interacting with teenagers.
“I just want to empower folks to be great. Let them know hey I’m pulling for you, that you are going to do great things. I just try to encourage people and uplift people and build people up,” Wilson said.
