Walmart LP snag Jupiter Fla man taking inappropriate pictures of women
JUPITER FL May 29 2017
On Friday, a loss-prevention officer called Jupiter police to report a man who was roaming Walmart and taking photos up women’s skirts.
Police approached 34-year-old Chad Gorman in the cosmetics aisle and asked him about the allegations.
“I did not know that taking photos of girls was illegal,” he said, according to the police report.
The Lake Park man, who faces eight counts of video voyeurism, was arrested and released from the Palm Beach County jail on $24,000 bail Saturday, according to court records.
At 6:30 p.m., police were called to the Walmart Supercenter on West Indiantown Road where they found Gorman in the cosmetics department. After Gorman said he didn’t know it was illegal to take photos of women, police asked if they could see his phone. Police said he agreed “because he was confident that taking photos of girls was not a crime.”
When he handed the phone over to them officers noted there were photos 453 photos of women including eight “up-skirt” photos.
Security-camera footage showed Gorman walking around the women’s clothing section for hours and positioning himself close to women to take the photos. Police notified at least one woman of whom Gorman had captured at least one photo up her dress as she shopped in the store.
Gorman admitted to taking the photos and said he was just waiting for his girlfriend to get off work, according to the report.
Gorman’s only other arrest appears to be in 2002 for possession of marijuana.
