Warwick man sentenced to 260 years for producing, possessing child porn
PROVIDENCE, R.I. March 24 2019 A former Electric Boat employee who admitted to police he produced child pornography several times over the last decade has been sentenced to serve 260 years in federal prison.
Thomas Goodman, 45, of Warwick, was arrested in May 2018 after Electric Boat Security confiscated his phone when he violated company policy by using it at work. While searching through the phone, the security guard found a large quantity of child pornography and turned it over to North Kingstown police.
Court records show an investigation revealed Goodman had approximately 7,800 images and 370 videos of child pornography in his possession, including more than 100 photos and videos of prepubescent minors that he created between Sept. 2007 and Feb. 2018.
When questioned by detectives, Goodman admitted that he not only possessed the photos and videos but also had sexual contact with at least three prepubescent females, according to court documents.
Goodman pleaded guilty on Oct. 11 to eight counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
In addition to the prison time, Goodman was ordered to pay a mandatory assessment of $5,000 for each charge as a result of the “Justice for Victims Trafficking Act.”
